Lake-Geauga Receives CARF Accreditation

Lake-Geauga Recovery Centers, Inc. has been awarded a three year accreditation by the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities. This latest accreditation is the second consecutive Three-Year Accreditation for the center’s outpatient drug and alcohol and mental health services, as well as drug and alcohol prevention services, and the first Three-Year Accreditation for the center’s residential program services. “We are very proud to now add our men’s and women’s residential treatment programs to our list of CARF accredited services”, said Melanie Blasko, President & CEO of Lake-Geauga Recovery Centers.

This achievement represents the highest level of accreditation that can be awarded to an organization and shows Lake-Geauga Recovery Centers’ substantial conformance to the CARF standards. It is evidence that Lake-Geauga Recovery Centers. Inc has met internationally recognized standards for efficiency, fiscal health and service delivery, which ultimately means better results and greater satisfaction for the people they serve.

The CARF accreditation process is conducted by a team of on-site surveyors who rigorously review business practices and program performance, assuring that the centers’ services are of the highest quality, measureable, and accountable. Lake-Geauga Recovery Centers was evaluated on approximately 906 standards in the areas of governance, leadership, health and safety, information management, accessibility and performance improvement to name few. In addition, interviews were conducted with stakeholders including consumers, staff and funders of the center.

CARF is an independent, non-profit accrediting body whose mission is to promote the quality, value, and optimal outcomes of services through a consultative accreditation process that centers on enhancing the lives of the persons served.

Lake-Geauga Recovery Centers, Inc. is a private non-profit organization, providing continuous service to the community since 1971. With offices in both Lake and Geauga Counties, the Center provides superior prevention, outpatient and residential services to individuals and families affected by alcoholism, substance abuse or mental health concerns, regardless of ability to pay and consistent with 12-step programs. The center receives funding for its prevention and treatment services from the Ohio Department of Alcohol and Drug Addiction Services, Lake County Alcohol, Drug Addiction and Mental Health Services Board, Geauga County Board of Mental Health and Recovery Services, and United Way of Lake and Geauga Counties.

The Centers’ staff and board of directors are committed to continuously enhancing their services, promoting accessibility and regularly seeking feedback from their consumers and the greater community. “It is really all about our consumers, the people we serve and their families.
