Geauga Community Picnic a Huge Success!

Over a dozen former and current students from Chardon High School planned and hosted the Geauga Community Family Picnic on Friday July 10th.  The goal was to raise awareness of  addiction within the Geauga County community as well as engage people in the fight against alcohol and other drug addiction. The turnout of over 300 people was amazing!  People enjoyed great food, a cornhole tournament, cake walk, fabulous Chinese Auction items donated by area businesses and individuals, and a 50/50 raffle. The nearly $7,000 was raised through food sales and activities which was then matched by the United Way of Geauga County Chardon Healing Fund.  As a result of the student’s hard work and matching gift, Lake-Geauga Recovery Centers received a check for $17,000 which will be designated for substance abuse treatment and prevention services for the students of Chardon High School.  Lake-Geauga Recovery Centers wishes to thank everyone for their participation, hard work and support with this event.
