August 31 is International Overdose Awareness Day

International Overdose Awareness Day is a global event held each year on August 31 to help raise awareness of overdose and reduce the stigma of drug-related deaths.  It also acknowledges the grief felt by families and friends remembering those who have met with death or permanent injury as a result of drug overdose.  Visit the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services (SAMHSA) to learn more about addiction and treatment.
