Job Summary
The Outpatient Program Manager oversees the clinical and administrative operations of outpatient counseling services, ensuring high-quality care and compliance with agency policies and standards. This role includes supervising counseling staff, managing treatment programs, and coordinating therapy sessions to support client recovery. The Program Manager maintains accurate clinical documentation, facilitates staff development, and collaborates with stakeholders to enhance program outcomes. This position also ensures compliance with regulatory standards, participates in agency meetings, and provides direct service coverage when needed.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Manages, coordinates, and delivers specialized outpatient treatment programs, ensuring all program components run efficiently.
- Provides clinical and administrative supervision to outpatient counselors, ensuring adequate staffing levels, adherence to work schedules, reporting requirements, and direct client interaction standards.
- Oversees the delivery of outpatient therapy sessions, ensuring adherence to the schedule at all times.
- Identifies and reports health, safety, maintenance, and janitorial issues in accordance with agency policy.
- Supervises counseling staff, ensuring they deliver personalized recovery plans through assessments, treatment planning, case management, and individual counseling.
- Ensures the maintenance of accurate, timely, and compliant clinical records for all outpatient services.
- Conducts consistent, documented supervision of outpatient staff to ensure performance meets agency standards.
- Implements and ensures compliance with agency policies and procedures.
- Actively participates in management meetings, peer review committees, and in-service training.
- Conducts utilization review meetings and regular staff meetings to ensure program efficacy and client progress.
- Develops and maintains strong relationships with agency stakeholders and community partners.
- Collaborates effectively with peers, subordinates, and clinical staff in a professional, team-oriented manner.
- Ensures timely, respectful verbal and written communication across all levels of staff and stakeholders.
- Interviews, trains, supervises, evaluates, and disciplines subordinate staff with approval from the President & CEO.
- Provides direct client services, including assessments, treatment planning, case management, and counseling (individual, family, group) as needed.
- Completes client charting and required documentation in a timely, professional, and accurate manner.
- Ensures that outpatient services comply with OMHAS and CARF standards for quality care.
- Upholds professional ethics and client confidentiality, including knowledge of client rights and grievance procedures.
- Models appropriate and professional behaviors for both clients and staff, fostering a positive, supportive workplace culture.
- Maintains up-to-date licensure and certification in accordance with professional requirements.
- Perform other duties as assigned and documented by the supervisor to support program goals.
Qualifications
- Master’s Degree in Social Work, Counseling, or a related field, with a focus on Substance Use Disorder (SUD) and co-occurring Mental Health treatment preferred.
- Active licensure in the State of Ohio as LISW-S, LPCC-S, LICDC-CS.
- In-depth knowledge of substance use disorders, family illness models, and various treatment modalities, experience with differential diagnosis.
- Proven experience in assessment, treatment planning, and counseling, including individual, family, marital, and group therapy.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and other relevant software.
- Availability to work evenings, weekends, and off-site as needed.
- Minimum of 2 years in a personal recovery program, if applicable.
- At least 3 years supervisory experience required.
Working conditions
- In this role you may work with or be exposed to individuals experiencing substance use disorders and co-occurring mental health issues. The environment may involve interacting with clients who exhibit a range of behaviors associated with their conditions, including emotional distress, unpredictability, and challenges in communication.
- Travel in Lake and Geauga Counties
Background Check and Alcohol and Drug Screen required.
Pay: $64,446 – $90,683 per year depending on licensure
