Melanie J. Blasko, President and CEO of Lake-Geauga Recovery Centers, Inc. has announced that Lake-Geauga Recovery Centers and the Geauga County YMCA will present 40 Developmental Assets for Adolescents from 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on January 25, 2018 at the Geauga County YMCA, 12460 Bass Lake Rd, Chardon, OH
The educational program will share with parents the 40 assets identified by the Search Institute as those experiences and skills children need to achieve and ultimately be successful. These 40 research-based experiences and qualities divided into External assets and Internal assets, can be identified as building blocks that influence children and ultimately help put them on the path to success. The data collected by the Search Institute was used to develop the Developmental Assets presented in this program
“This is a wonderful opportunity for parents to learn more about interacting and communicating with their children and ultimately helping to pave the way to success,” Blasko said.
Presenters for the workshop will include the Matthew Petersen, OCPS, Lake-Geauga Recovery Centers; Mary-Alice Bell, OCPSII, Ravenwood Health and Lynn Kempf, Retired OCPS, Chardon Community Action Team. The panelists will share with parents what the 40 assets include and answer questions they may have about them.
