Full-Time Residential Counselor

The Residential Counselor is responsible for the residential treatment program, working with each resident to develop their own recovery through assessment of individual problem areas, treatment planning, case management, individual and group counseling sessions. Must be knowledgeable about the disease of substance use disorder, family illness and model and treatment modalities as well as experience in AOD counseling including assessment, individual, family, and group counseling. Assures that group programs take place as scheduled and facilitates or co-facilitates therapy sessions. Also assures that participation of community resources, especially 12-step volunteers, are supported and nurtured. Completes client charting and other required documentation. Participates in peer review, attends agency and residential staff meetings and in-services.  May transport residents as necessary. Relates and works well with peers and other staff in a professional/team approach. Maintains professional standards of ethics, thorough knowledge and implementation of applicable laws and governmental regulations relating to client confidentiality, client rights and grievance policies and procedures. Must establish good rapport and demonstrate a positive public relations image in working with all stakeholders including the public, clients, families, and staff.

Minimum Bachelor Degree in a human services field required. Masters in counseling or social work preferred. Appropriate licensure including but not limited to LPC, LPCC, LPCC, LSW, LISW or LICDC. Minimum 2 years’ experience in AOD counseling including assessment, individual, family, and group counseling.

Background Check and Alcohol and Drug Screen required.

Pay: $31,000.00 – $57,000.00 per year depending on licensure
