Full-Time Medical Somatic Administrative Assistant

The Med-Som Administrative Assistant assists the Nurse Practitioner and Registered Nurse in logistical activities related to the provision of Medical Somatic services to our outpatient and residential clients.  Duties include verifying clients’ insurance benefits, maintaining accurate insurance information in the clients’ electronic health record.  Scheduling client appointments, making follow-up and reminder calls.  Communicating with treatment team regarding clients’ compliance with appointments. Obtaining authorizations from insurance companies and pharmacies to order medications.  Completing and submitting insurance forms for billing and authorizations as well as assisting clients in obtaining authorization and eligible benefits.  They are responsible for the inventory, ordering, management and tracking of medications.  This includes reporting and tracking of medications for billing.  They maintain security and organization of client database, conducts quality assurance procedures, demonstrates compliance with policies and procedures and maintains agency standards of ethics. Possess a thorough knowledge of the implementation of client confidentiality, client rights and grievance policies and procedures.  They model appropriate and positive behaviors for clients and staff.

Minimum Associates Degree and knowledge of healthcare operations and medical and insurance verifications. Organized, detail oriented/accurate. Must be PC literate.  Must be bondable and able to relate to persons with Substance Use Disorder and their families.

Background Check and Alcohol and Drug Screen required.

Pay: $33,280 – $40,000 annually
