LAKE-GEAUGA RECOVERY CENTERS ANNOUNCES NEW FAMILY GROUP IN CHARDON

Mentor, OH. August 6, 2018:  Melanie J. Blasko, President and CEO of Lake-Geauga Recovery Centers, Inc. has announced that the Lake-Geauga Recovery Centers’ will begin offering Family Group services in their Chardon office located at 209 Center Street, Unit E, Chardon, OH 44024 beginning August 13, 2018.   The group will meet every Monday (except holidays) from 5:30 – 7:30 p.m.

The immediate and long-term benefits to individuals in treatment include meaningful and supportive relationships with family members.  The Family Program incorporates self-awareness and knowledge of family dynamics, through education, counseling and support.  Emphasis is focused on the importance of communication and understanding within the family, how to support each other emotionally and establish appropriate boundaries, incorporating good coping skills and positive reinforcement.  The program, facilitated by a licensed counselor, is open to spouses, partners, parents, siblings, and other relatives and friends interested in learning about substance abuse and how it affects everyone. You do not need to have a loved one involved in treatment services in order to attend. There is no charge for the Family Group, however we do ask that you call ahead to schedule a brief intake appointment.

“We are very pleased to offer these expanded services to the community especially in light of the growing opiate epidemic,” said Blasko.  “Having an evening Family Group in our Chardon office will provide this important service to many people. We are grateful for generous funding from the United Way of Geauga County which helped make the availability of this program possible in Geauga County.”
